The Uniden GMR2889-2CK dual, 28 Mile, GMRS 2-way radios are equipped with a circuitry that is specifically designed to extend the life of your batteries. After 3 seconds of no transmission the GMR2889-2CK automatically switches to the Power Save mode. With the Power Boost key you can temporarily increase the power output and achieve maximum communication range.
